Frequently Asked Questions

How accurate is this calculator?
The calculator uses the statutory penalty ranges under RERA §63 (5–10% of estimated project cost) and DPDP Rules 2025. The estimates are conservative — actual penalties levied by RERA authorities can be higher depending on severity, repeat violations, and authority discretion. This calculator is for indicative purposes only — not legal advice.
Does ReraDesk guarantee I won't get penalised?
No. ReraDesk is an AI decision-support layer — it automates QPR preparation, flags compliance issues, and gates submission behind CA certification. Final compliance decisions rest with your CA and the RERA authority. We offer a Platform Credit Guarantee: if a QPR is rejected due to a platform extraction error, we credit your subscription. See Terms §16.
I filed QPRs late in the past — am I already penalised?
Late filings create a risk of penalty notice from the RERA authority. Whether a penalty is actually levied depends on whether the authority chooses to issue a show-cause notice. If you've received a notice, consult a RERA advocate. ReraDesk helps prevent future violations — it cannot retroactively cure past ones.
What is the DPDP exposure in this calculator?
The Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 rules were notified in November 2025. Developers who collect homebuyer data digitally (via CRM, portal, WhatsApp, etc.) are classified as Data Fiduciaries. A data breach without adequate security safeguards can attract fines up to ₹250 Crore. The calculator includes this exposure when you indicate you collect data digitally.
Can I share this calculation with my developer client?
Yes — use the Share on WhatsApp or Copy Link buttons. The link includes your current slider settings so your client sees exactly the same calculation you ran. CA firms frequently use this to justify the ReraDesk investment to their builder clients.
